18th Century Dutch Fireplace
Very pleased to offer this alluring Dutch Louis XV fireplace mantel in striking Arabescato marble.
This soft white toned Italian marble is world famous for its wild greyish veins and its engaging structure.
The thin curved and serpentine moulded shelf of this 18th Century Dutch Fireplace rests above a slightly curved richly carved frieze which is centered by an opposing C shaped central cartouche with delicate foliage and flowers on both sides. The deep c-scrolled endblocks sit above scrolled angled jambs which terminate in foliate furls supported on straight footblocks.
This Dutch fireplace has been professionally structurally restored while keeping all its old patina and wear.
It beautifully carries its age and wear it can however be completely restored and refinished if required.
