Exceptional Dutch Rococo Fireplace Mantel with Original Trumeau
We are very pleased to offer this exceptional and original combination of a beautiful grey marble fireplace with its original trumeau in the Rococo manner.
This 18th Century mantel is created from the nicest Italian grey Bardiglio marble with nice subtle soft white veining.
Superb swooping and paneled frieze with an amazing central cartouche flanked by beautifully decorated S-scrolled jambs, all below a shaped and profiled topshelf.
The wooden gilded trumeau with mirror and a painting of a gentleman has so much detail its hard to comprehend the complexity at first glance. The mirrors patina and imperfections create the perfect atmosphere.
The stunning wooden carvings are beautifully executed and gilded. Lovely overall original condition.
